Standard Satellite Dish Removal
What about the wires?
We remove the cables that run from the back of the dish to wherever they end. If the cable enters the home we will cut it at the exterior point of entry and seal as necessary. Cables that connect to exterior control panels will be disconnected from the panel, leaving the panel in place.
If the cable connects to a junction box / splitter, only the wire from the junction box to the dish is removed. This instance would occur when the same cable is used for your current tv or internet connection.
First Story
First story equipment
examples are:
-
The dish is mounted to the roof of a 1 story home.
-
The dish is mounted to the side of a building, no more than 10 feet from the ground.
Third Story
Third story equipment removals require a 40 foot ladder and are more hazardous for the technician.
Expect limited availability and longer lead times for these removals.
Second Story
Second story equipment examples are:
-
The dish is mounted to the roof of a 2 story home.
-
The dish is mounted to the side of the building, between 11 - 20 feet from the ground.
What about the mounting bracket?
Brackets are removed from dishes that are mounted to the side of the home or in a fascia board. Holes are sealed for weatherproofing with silicone caulk.
Dishes mounted to roof shingles are removed while leaving the mounting plate in place. This is the best procedure, to protect the roof integrity. The seal around the plate is kept intact, with no exposed holes.
If the dish has fallen or pulled free at the mounting, all parts are removed and the area will be sealed with caulk or roof patch. However, if the hole is too large to patch, or water has softened the roof, we will inform you of the need for formal roof repair.
